’This grand show is eternal.
It is always sunrise somewhere;
the dew is never all dried at once;
a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising.
Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming,
on sea and continents and islands,
each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.’
- John Muir
’The photo series gladiatrice
came to life on red wine and cheeks flushed
red in deep inspiration’, smiles Hannah.
’The flower gladiolus, or sword-lily,
has always meant something special to me.
To me they represent a strong backbone and integrity,
constantly budding; upward, forward..
with surprisingly silky flowers.’
’Aeternum is latin for eternity and this still photograph,
the one captured last on that day of shooting,
made me think of an arena full of fallen gladiators
and how we are all the same,
when everything is over’, she smiles.
’I find that comforting.’
